Earnings Surprises to Expect: Qualcomm, Square and Pfizer

Another massive week of earnings announcements is about to begin. We expect nearly 900 companies to post their EPS and revenue results in the first week of November, with Healthcare and Tech dominating the headlines. Thursday is going to be the busiest day, topping 300 releases. Tuesday and Wednesday will not be far behind, with over 200 anticipated announcements each.

Last week we saw some surprising revenue misses from Apple and Amazon. These were mainly driven by supply chain disruptions rather than weakness in demand, and to a large extent investors shrugged them off. Our models continue to forecast that US companies will on average substantially outperform consensus estimates. Below is the rundown of the biggest names from whom the market is waiting to hear before Friday.
